The Lake George Property Owners Society LGPOS
LGPOS was formed January 3, 1977. Its mandate then and now is to "Preserve The Environmental Quality of Lake George and its Watershed Area". Between 1977 and 1980, Lake George was declared polluted and unusable for water sports. The beach was closed to swimming for two years and property values dropped. Because of the responsible and active efforts of the property owners and the strong collective voice of the LGPOS, the Lake has been steadily recovering with substantial improvements in the water quality over the years.
Located on the South Mountain Plateau of the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, we represent approximately 125 properties around Lake George. Most of the properties are summer cottages and an increasing number are occupied by year round residents who enjoy the beauty of Lake George throughout the seasons.
